Albuquerque’s Sunshine Theater is hosting a quartet of alternative rock bands from multiple continents when Arm’s Length, Holding Absence, Bloom and House & House take the stage this October.
Kicking off on the underground rock scene in 2022 with their debut album “Never Before Seen, Never Again Found,” Arm’s Length features frontman Allen Steinberg.
The Ontario band of four musicians released its newest album, “There’s A Whole World Out There,” last year, is an evolution of Arm Length’s emo sound, bringing an element of reflection and introspection to the lyrics.
They are joined by co-headliners Holding Absence, a band from the UK in the post-hardcore space who have recently gone international with their tours. Lucas Woodland is the frontman for both Holding Absence and another band, Funeral for a Friend.
In their latest album, “Modern Life Is Lonely,” Holding Absence was inspired by newer niche subgenres in the electronic music space, including dance music, hyperpop and lofi hip-hop, while maintaining an emo and alternative influence. On a thematic level, the album explores isolation in the digital age.
Concerts like this may choose to use flyer printing to create low-cost promotion, venue Signs and set lists.
Arm’s Length, Holding Absence, Bloom and House & House are performing on October 4 at 7 pm, with doors open at 6 pm, at the Sunshine Theater at 120 Central Ave in Albuquerque.
