Award-winning rock band to light up Albuquerque

Albuquerque’s Isleta Amphitheater is hosting Evanescence this July.

It’s part of the Grammy-winning band’s first foray into a worldwide tour in four years. Other stops include performances in Europe and Canada, topping things off with a performance in October at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.

Albuquerque’s performance will feature former Evanescence collaborators Spiritbox as well as Nova Twins.

The tour coincides with Evanescence’s newest album, 2026’s Sanctuary.

Last year, the band had been building momentum by releasing the singles “Afterlife,” “Fight Like a Girl, touring with Metallica, and opening for Halsey and My Chemical Romance

Lead singer Amy Lee said opening for Metallica shattered her expectations, as it is one of the bands that inspired Evanescence’s sound. The experience helped ignite musical inspiration for Lee.

With a slightly new lineup, Lee said Evanescence has been re-energized as a band, putting years of work into the new album. Lee said the LP is an attempt to put out positivity into the world during a time of uncertainty.

With more than 20 years since the band’s breakout hit album, Fallen, Lee said many bands that made their mark in the 2000s are having something of a renaissance in recent years.
