Hot foods and BBQ lovers show on for March
A treat is in store for those Albuquerque residents who “like it hot,” as the 33rd National Fiery Foods & Barbecue Show comes to the Sandia Resort & Casino in early March.
The annual show was founded by Dave DeWitt, chili pepper expert and author, and his wife Mary Jane in 1988. Two years later, the couple formed Sunbelt Shows, Inc. That very first show featured 47 exhibitors and was attended by 500 people.
Their Fiery Foods & Barbecue Show now attracts over 1,000 products for the public and business community to learn about, taste, and purchase. The products are from around the U.S. and the globe.
Attendees can also expect lots of food samples, cooking and barbecue demonstrations, and Scovie Award-winning items placed among the world’s top Fiery Food Products.
Banner printing services are useful for directing attendees both inside and outside a venue during an event like this.
One popular feature is the 505 Food Fights where professionals from throughout New Mexico participate in a bracket-style culinary competition. They go head-to-head creating dishes using mystery ingredients, with the proceeds going to charity.
The year, 170 exhibitors are set to bring their wares and an expected 20,000 will attend over the March 4 to 6 weekend. General admission is $15.50, while tickets for children 11 to 18 are $5. Attendance for those 10 and under is free.
