Festival with retro twist comes to Albuquerque
Albuquerque will get a blast from the past with the return of the annual Modish Market, a festival that celebrates mid-century culture.
The event will include multiple days of entertainment, themed activities and markets.
Put on by the organization CLAY + CODA, the event was made possible in part thanks to a $10,000 grant from the City of Albuquerque and Visit ABQ.
According to CLAY + CODA’s website, they specialize in curating vintage home goods, clothes and furniture from the 1960s and 1970s. Their goals are to promote sustainable living, offer unique products to customers, build community and educate others.
Some of the past events put on by CLAY + CODA’s website include the Twilight Trolley Market Series, the Mid Mod Yardsale Series, the last year’s Cosmic Creations Exhibit.
For the Mid Mod Yardsale Series, the setup was similar to a traditional community yard sale, organizers said. While the pieces being offered on sale included “high-quality modern collections from across New Mexico,” there was an emphasis on affordability.
For the upcoming Modish Market, a number of donors, volunteers, entertainers and vendors are expected to be involved, though the details of the festival are still being worked out.
Cultural festivals like these may choose to use printing services to advertise events.
The Modish Market is happening on April 18, April 19 and April 20 at the Park at Winrock Town Center at 2100 Louisiana Blvd. N.E. in Albuquerque.
