Childrens book festival returns virtually to Albuquerque
This April, the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) will be hosting the annual Children’s Bilingual Book Festival.
NHCC has normally hosted the festival each year as an in-person gathering. For 2021, the Children’s Bilingual Book Festival will instead take place as an entirely online event over the course of four days.
This literary event focuses on books that include two different languages. Native languages and English, as well as Spanish and English books, will be featured across the festival’s activities and events. The goal of the festival is to encourage Albuquerque children to read and to gain a wider audience for bilingual books. When promoting similar virtual events, the hosts frequently include poster printing in their organization process to create colorful, visually appealing printouts to put up on walls and bulletin boards.
The festival will include events such as teacher and parent workshops, activities centering on books for children grades K to 6, and author readings. Both illustrators and authors will lead many of the festival’s activities and events. Presenters will include Xavier Garza, Raynelda Calderon, Robert Liu-Trujillo, René Colato Laínez, Cathy Camper, and Dr. Anna M. Nogar.
This free event is open to anyone who wishes to join.
This online book festival is scheduled to be streamed on Zoom from Thursday, April 15 to Sunday, April 18 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on each day.
