Renaissance Faire to take Albuquerque back in time

Albuquerque history buffs are invited to come to an event that will give them a taste of renaissance life.

The 4th annual Albuquerque Renaissance Faire will be coming once again to the Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum. There will be plenty of activities for the young and old alike, including The Commoners’ Food Court, a group wedding, the Children’s Realm, the Tavern, and Village Shopping. Even Fido or Fluffy can get in on the fun, as this year there will also be a Faire Wear Show: Pet Fashion Contest.

Throughout the day, there will be live entertainment, ranging from an equestrian show to a royal procession, Celtic singers, magic, jugglers, and exhibitions of armored combat. There will be demonstrations of renaissance life where visitors can find out more about this period in history. Banners can be custom designed to fit in with the overall theme for functions such as this.

Those who are 21 years of age and over can enjoy mead and other drinks sourced from local craft breweries, while the Commoners’ Food Court will offer a variety of food trucks, as well as turkey legs, baked goods, corn on the cob, and other fare.

Tickets for the event, which is scheduled to take place on April 30, can be purchased at the museum or online. More information can be found on the Albuquerque Renaissance Faire website.
