The Route 66 Summerfest continues to be a family-friendly event this year, and is listed as one of the annual events of Albuquerque. There will be food trucks, shopping opportunities, and more.
This event hosts three different stages: the main stage, NM Jazz Festival Stage, and Route 66 East Stage. Each stage will have live performances throughout the event, and performances will include musical styles ranging from soul to blues, and rock to indie-folk. The headliner of the main stage, performing starting at 8:30, is Magic Giant, known for their indie-folk style.
Local artisans will be gathered at Mother Road Art Market, and will be carrying items of all sorts from clothing and jewelry to pottery and household goods. The shops and businesses located in the area will also be open during the event.
All the parts of this festival will take place in the Nob Hill area. Parking is available on streets and in lots around the festival area, many within walking distance. Attendees are advised to use caution, as there will likely be heavy pedestrian traffic.
This kind of event often uses banner printing. Banners are easily hung from street lights or put up on buildings to help make the public aware. This event is free and open to the public, and will take place from 5:00 to 10:00 pm on Saturday, July 20.
