Albuquerque set for brewing addition

Another brewery is set to open in Albuquerque this summer after plans started being drawn up for the new site.

It has been a long process in seeking the right permissions for the creation of the Red Door Brewing Company. However, now the site has been confirmed and the firm is ready to start buying the equipment and preparing for the start of the project in the coming weeks.

The site that has been agreed is an 11,000 square-foot space located in the new and rapidly forming Brewery District of the city. Positioned at 1001 Candelaria Road NE, the Red Door site is right at the edge of the newly renamed area which has welcomed a number of tap bars and small breweries.

Attracted by the M-2 zoning the council has put on the area, many young companies have chosen to launch here, with poster printing and Banners no doubt indicative of the exciting spirit in the region.

The exact design of the Red Door site is still being finalised but it is understood that there will be at least 2,000-square-foot of space handed over to the tap room side of the business. There is also room, it is understood, for a patio area to be created in the future.

With $400,000 invested in the venture thus far, the Red Door team is hoping for a July or August launch.
