Somerville to organize multi-activity summer camp

The Somerville YMCA will offer a summer camp for children where they can participate in several activities.

Somerville YMCA’s Camp Sunburst is a program that lets kids have fun during their summer breaks in a safe environment. The weekly sessions will take place at the organization’s on-site camp tent and in the recreational park field across the street from the Somerville YMCA. The Trailblazers group is intended for children in the 3rd grade. The camp blends fun activities with educational experiences that encourage grade-appropriate critical thinking skills.

Campers will go on field trips to several destinations throughout the summer program. This year, the trip locations include the Branchburg Sports Complex, Liberty Science Center, and Turtle Back Zoo. There will also be trips to local attractions like Urban Air and the Crayola Factory. Each week of the summer camp has a different theme, such as Superheroes vs. Villains, Blast from the Past, and Melody Mania. Campers will also get to swim at the YMCA.

Camp Sunburst’s Traditional Multi-Activity Camp will be held from June 24th to August 30th. The weekly cost to participate in the YMCA's program will range from $281.60 to $352. Families who qualify for financial assistance for the camp may receive a discount. Organizations in charge of summertime programs like this may use poster printing to help advertise the events.
