Nature walk celebrates Somerville areas goldfinches

Somerville residents who want to grow closer to nature will have an educational nature walk to look forward to, with the area’s goldfinches stealing the show.

The Goldfinch Galore Walk is coming to Duke Farms this August, allowing Somerville residents to gather and keep an eye out for one of the most brilliant birds on the North American continent. The guided walk will give interested individuals a memorable way to start their morning, with guides helping them see songbirds, raptors, goldfinches, and more.

It will be an ideal experience for those in the community who have a curiosity about nature. Binoculars are encouraged to enhance the ability to admire these birds in their natural habitat. The walk will follow a flat, paved trail that ensures accessibility for all. Instructors will use voice amplifiers to share their knowledge with guests. Brochure printing offers an affordable resource that shares vast amounts of information with visitors who attend events like this.

The highlight of the experience will be the gold streaks across the sky of goldfinches flying around the host site. The gathering will be held rain or shine, and registered guests are encouraged to dress for the conditions.

Duke Farms, located in neighboring Hillsborough Township, will host the birdwatching walk. It starts at 7:00 AM on Saturday, August 22nd. Tickets are $30 per person online.
