Somerville event marks arrival of holiday season
An early December event is returning to Somerville to celebrate the festive season for an evening.
The Holiday Jubilee, annual experience planned and hosted by officials at Downtown Somerville, acts as the city’s way to ring in a season full of special celebrations.
The jubilee includes the lighting of the city’s tree, the arrival of Santa Claus, trolley rides, caroling, shopping, performances, and giveaways. The experience has a family focus and is open to people of all ages.
The deals offered will vary by the shop, with participating stores able to run events for shoppers during the celebration as well. The shops will all be located in the downtown area.
The special guests featured this year are the Sharpe Family Singers. The group includes parents Barb and Ron Sharpe, along with their four children. The family has a strong social media presence, as well as a past appearance on the hit program “America’s Got Talent.”
Attending this festive party is free for everyone. While activities will start on Division Street, the event will spread throughout the area. Event information is available on the website for Downtown Somerville. Flyer printing is a popular choice of advertising method for many city-led events like this.
The festivities are scheduled to take place between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm on Friday, December 5.
