Even though the event was cancelled this year, the Somerville St. Patrick’s Day parade committee has been hard at work planning the next one, and a date has been confirmed for 2021’s celebrations.
The next event will focus on the local frontline heroes with a special emphasis of gratitude for keeping the community safe and healthy, as well as feeding people in need during the past several months. Larry Doyle and Kenneth Greig are co-chairing the committee, and Bill Rose is the treasurer. Greig will also be the Grand Marshall for the 2021 parade.
Promoting citywide events can be accomplished by working with local Print shops for flyer printing. Flyers can be printed in full, vibrant colors and contain the applicable information about the event. They can be distributed far and wide, as well as direct mailed in advance of a parade, festival or other community event.
Several businesses have been sponsors for this annual parade. Sponsors include Care One, Ken’s Tree Service, Barry’s Appliance and TV, PSEG and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Sponsorships are available for the next parade. Visit the event website for more information and to apply.
The 2021 Somerville St. Patrick’s Day parade will take place on Sunday, March 14 beginning at 1:30 pm. The organizers will update social media and other communication as the date approaches.
