The Somerville Jazz Festival is coming to central New Jersey and now has been expanded to include two other cities—Flemington and New Brunswick—for a total of three days.
The Festival was founded 10 years ago and includes not only live music, but also culinary delights and visual arts. People from across the tristate region are drawn to the Festival, which has grown over the decade and now has a devoted following.
The third day of the Festival will take place next to the Somerset County Historic Courthouse Green in Somerville and will take place regardless of the weather. Attendees are encouraged to bring umbrellas and lawn chairs to best enjoy the entertainment, and admission is free.
Among the performers at the Festival will be Riza Printup, who is a jazz harpist from New York; Marcus Printup, a jazz trumpeter; multi-instrumentalists Monte Croft; and jazz singer/songwriter, Carla Cook.
The festival in Somerville will take place this Sunday, September 16 from 1:30 to 6:00 pm. Also taking place on Sunday is the Arts on Division Jazz Festival Art Market, which will take place on the pedestrian mall and feature visual art displays and other live performances. Vendors will be on hand selling their drawings, paintings, ceramics, and jewelry, among other items.
