The Holiday Jubilee is taking place in downtown Somerville very soon.
This event will feature the lighting of the Christmas tree and the arrival of Santa Claus. Guests will be able to have their picture taken with Santa and enjoy hot chocolate and gingerbread. Entertainment throughout the evening will be provided by the Triangle Dance Center and the School of Rock Somerville. Visitors can also enjoy carriage rides along Main Street.
The celebration also takes place on Small Business Saturday, and those attending are encouraged to shop in the many stores downtown and eat at the restaurants.
A few days later, residents will enjoy the 4th annual Holiday Lights Parade, hosted by the Somerville Fire Department. In addition, ice carvers will be making appearances on Division Street on three consecutive Saturdays in December.
It is likely that some of these events will make work for Somerville graphic design companies, since parades need Banners and stores need signage to advertise their specials.
The Holiday Jubilee will take place this Saturday, November 28, beginning at 5:30 pm, and the Holiday Lights Parade will be held downtown on December 5 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Ice carving will take place on December 5, 12, and 19 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. For more information about these events, contact the Downtown Somerville Alliance at 908-541-1600.
