Things are looking up for individuals in and around Somerville.
The 33rd Annual Festival of Ballooning is about to get underway and will have several mass ascensions of hot air balloons. From basic striped balloons to dinosaur-shaped varieties, there will be a lot to see in the sky. Every day, attendees also have a chance to take a 20-to-45-minute ride in one of the balloons.
Along with hot air balloons, guests can enjoy live entertainment. Each day, there is a featured concert. There will also be a teen concert featuring Sabrina Carpenter. Flyer printing is one way event organizers may be promoting the festivities.
On the last day of the event at 8:00 am, there will be a 'Running with the Balloons 5K' and a fun run. Registration costs between $25 and $50 and includes entrance to the festival.
At the gate, tickets cost $35 for adults or $15 for children. Balloon rides cost an additional $225 to $250 per person.
The festival takes place today from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm, July 25 from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm, and July 26 from 6:00 am until 8:00 pm. Balloon rides will take place at 6:30 am on July 25 and July 26 and 6:30 pm every evening.
The event will be held at Solberg Airport, located on 39 Thor Solberg Road.
