The streets of downtown Somerville are going to fill up with ghouls, ghosts, princesses, and superheroes this Halloween season as the Downtown Somerville Alliance once again stages their Spooktacular. The event combines treats, music, and activities.
Businesses will open their doors to offer candy for children and Promotional Products for their parents. Some booths will also be set up along the streets with not only candy, but also concessions, crafts, and goods for sale. Hundreds of costumed attendees are expected to show up for the trick or treating and activities.
A dance party will take up one corner of downtown, hosted by DJ Greyo, offering up a wide selection of dance music as well as some customary spooky songs in honor of the season. Another section of the Spooktacular will feature a pumpkin carving demonstration sponsored by the Empower Family Success Center. Tables will be set up with some carving tools so families can try to create their own masterpieces as well. Additionally, the event will have character photos provided by Hellion Photography, and a Halloween Passport Adventure.
The Spooktacular will take place this Friday, October 28 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm all along Division St. Admission is free, but there will be charges for food, drinks, and other items. Anyone interested in more information should visit the website or contact the Downtown Somerville Alliance directly.
