Development in downtown Somerville fully occupied

The SOMA development in downtown Somerville is now fully leased, less than three months after its opening to the public.

The building of 69 luxury apartments – close to the Main Street Corridor, the Division Street Plaza, and the New Jersey Transit train station – was able to meet the demand for living in a convenient setting in the downtown area, said Sterling Properties, the developer. There are studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments in SOMA, some spanning up to 1,300 square feet. The main features of the apartments are a washer and dryer in every unit, stainless steel appliances, tall ceilings, and designer finishes.

Director of sales and marketing for Sterling Properties, Nick Hollenbeck, commented that the ability to lease these apartments in such a short period of time shows that Somerville is most desirable as a lifestyle hub, and is also an affordable alternative to other towns in the state that may be more popular. The use of Promotional Products many have also contributed to the ability to rent such units in such a short period of time.

Young couples and single professionals comprise many of the renters at SOMA. They are looking for a more urban style of life with the ability to walk to shopping, dining, and nightlife, and have easy access to mass transportation that is more competitively priced than many other New Jersey downtown centers.
