Middle Earth’s Tour of Somerville Cycling Series is coming to Somerset County this weekend. Spectators will get to see cyclists spin their stuff, as well as enjoy a variety of fun and free family activities.
The weekend kicks off with a family ride at 9:00 am this Saturday, and official cyclist events begin at 9:30 am in nearby Raritan. Events on Sunday will include a 5K run hosted by The Twin Boro’s Scholarship Foundation, and a Family Fun Ride will happen on the course later in the day. Food services and vendors will be available, and Bound Brook Recreation Department is providing a Kids’ Bounce House.
Spectators can use poster printing to create Signs to encourage their favorite cyclists, or take fun family photos for later postcard printing.
Events continue through Monday, featuring the Sports and Music Festival and the Kids’ Pavilion. The schedule includes a full list of live bands, and the Kids’ Pavilion will feature pony rides, a petting zoo, inflatables, and a station to craft ‘thank you’ cards for veterans.
Leading up to the weekend event, 50/50 raffle tickets will be sold by Middle Earth, the winner of which will be decided at the finish line on Monday.
