The 7th Annual Somerville Oktoberfest will ramp up the town with tasting, contests, music and a day of fun. The event is hosted by Tapastre & Project PUB.
The festival brings lots of activities along with craft beers, mead, seasonal drinks, sangria, and cider to the public. Local restaurants will be showcasing their popular dishes for all to enjoy.
Various bands will be performing throughout the day. Adults can try their skill with a giant beer pong or in the Stein Holding Contest. Each person entering the contest will hold the one-liter stein straight out from the shoulder for as long as possible. The stein weighs about 5lb so this contest presents a true challenge of endurance.
Poster printing is an effective way of advertising activities in a highly visible manner. The Posters can be printed in full color and mounted on walls, posts, or windows, or placed on easels.
Thee Brat Eating Competition is on the agenda too, welcoming the hungry and courageous eaters to dive in. A maximum of 10 contestants will be placed at a table full of bratwurst plates. The person who eats the most of the German sausages in three minutes is the winner.
The annual Somerville Oktoberfest will take place September 28 from noon until 9:00 pm. More information can be found online on the event website.
