Londonderry set to kick off summer music series

The Londonderry Arts Council has released the schedule of upcoming summer concerts, which will start next week.

Things get rolling with the Londonderry High School Jazz Ensembles and Rock Orchestra. The performance is likely to be extra special because it is the last time the seniors will perform.

Next up is Couch, who are returning due to demand after their performance last year. The Boston-based seven-piece band formed in 2019, and are known for their blend of soul, funk, R&B, and jazz. They recently toured Europe, UK, and the US in support of Cory Wong.

The following week brings the Linda Ronstadt Experience, featuring Tristan McIntosh of “American Idol” fame. The group performs the songs that Ronstadt made famous.

East Coast Soul, who rocked Londonderry last year, winds up the month. This 10-piece band got together in 2009, comprising world-class professional musicians who play the great soul classics of Motown and then travel the decades to today’s hits.

The high school groups perform next Wednesday, June 4. Couch entertains on June 11, the Linda Ronstadt Experience is June 18, and East Coast Soul takes the stage on June 25. In the event of bad weather, the venue for Couch is the Matthew Thornton Elementary School gym, but the other three groups will use the Londonderry HS cafeteria. All shows run from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Organizers of events like this often use poster printing to create advertising for them.
