Five Senses tour planned in Londonderry

A non-profit organization is inviting everyone to explore a lovely spot.

The Community Caregivers of Greater Derry have organized the Second Annual Five Senses Tour at Tiffany Gardens. The gardens are private, tucked away in a Londonderry neighborhood and open only on special occasions.

The admission fee includes a self-guided tour, a selection of mocktails, and delicious bite-size morsels. Organizers have carefully chosen a limited number of vendors to take part, and raffle baskets will be placed throughout the property. Musicians will play for the duration of the event, and an artist will be in the gardens, painting during the tours.

The Tiffany Gardens cover one acre and are named after the homeowners’ daughter. The garden comprises over twenty beds joined by winding, grassy paths. A large stone is set into each garden, topped by a whimsical piece of garden art the owners have acquired over years of collecting. Water features including a reflecting pool, fountain, waterwall, and fishpond are scattered throughout the gardens, which house over 300 varieties of scrubs, and both deciduous and evergreen trees.

The gardens will be open on July 25 and 26, between 9.00 am and 2.00 pm. Visitors are welcome to visit any time during those hours. The admission fee is $20, and the money raised will go to support the no-cost programs offered to older adults. Using flyer printing to create handouts allows organizers of events like this to publicize them throughout the area at a reasonable cost.
