A new residential development will be coming to Gastonia, just south of the city limits. The site is 55 acres in size and will have 85 modular homes.
CEO of Affordable Communities Group in Cary, Michael Conlon, said the project will be done in two phases and will add quality affordable housing to the area which is increasing in demand and not readily available. Clayton Homes, based in Tennessee, will be manufacturing the units.
There will be a mixture of larger singlewide units and shorter doublewide units in the first phase of the project. These will be 1,200 square feet in size and have two bathrooms and three bedrooms. The layouts and configurations will be slightly different from each other.
Brochure printing is often used for such projects so that prospective tenants can have more information about the homes, layouts, and amenities.
Conlon said that these will rent for between $750 and $795 a month and there will be a minimal down payment for the rent for the first and last month. The renting of the home and the lot will be included in the rental price. There will also be a rent-to-own plan so that tenants can take ownership of their home after 10 years.
The first phase, which will have 55 units, will be available for rent by April or May.
