Gastonia opens new stadium

The Fuse District Stadium on East Franklin Street in Gastonia is now officially open to the public.

This will be the home of the Gastonia Honey Hunters, which is the most recent minor league baseball team in the Atlantic League. The ballpark has been under construction for the past year and a half and cost $22m to build. Velocity Companies, Inc. will now be the managers of the park. Such companies often turn to poster printing to promote new stadiums and teams and their seasonal schedule.

The completion of this stadium marks the beginning of the Franklin Urban Sports and Entertainment, more commonly known as the Fuse District. It is part of a revitalization effort to provide a connection from downtown Gastonia to the area.

Mayor of Gastonia, Eddie Reid, said that the entire area needed attention as it was underdeveloped. Reid expressed his hope that many people will come to the area and experience its value to the community. Matt Green, a mechanic at S & K Automotive across the street from the ballpark, expressed his gratitude for the renovation and making this side of town look better.

CEO and owner of the team, Brandon Bellamy, said that the opening of the park is a milestone in the history of the team. Opening day at the Stadium will be on Thursday, May 27.
