Rob Wallace of Gastonia has risen to the rank of Eagle Scout, the ultimate achievement for a Boy Scout.
Rob’s first scouting experience was as a seven-year-old Tiger Cub. He then continued his scouting adventure through Wolf, Bear, and Webelos until eventually reaching the highest level of scouting. A ceremony to award Rob his rank was held recently at Gastonia’s First Presbyterian Church.
During his scouting career, Rob earned 28 merit badges. Additionally, for five years Rob attended Camp Bud Schiele and was also able to participate in the Florida Sea Base High Adventure held in the Florida Keys.
For his Eagle Scout project, Rob spearheaded the improvement of the picnic area at Martha Rivers Park in Gastonia. Together with scouts and volunteers, a large concrete pad was poured and two picnic tables were built and placed upon it. Additionally, a charcoal grill was installed as well. Another part of the project was the building of a custom pull-up bar and its installation at the fitness track.
Money to complete the project came through donations from friends and family. Often, the services of a printing company can facilitate fundraising for a project such as this one by generating awareness of the cause in question.
Rob Wallace, the son of Mike and Leslie Wallace, is a South Point High School senior.
