The Heroes Convention is taking place in Charlotte next month for three days, hosted by Heroes Aren’t Hard to Find.
The convention is dedicated to comics and the popular culture surrounding them. The biggest draw of the event will most likely be the dealers’ room, which will feature all types of related merchandise for sale, along with an Artists’ Alley and Indie Island for independent publishers, printmakers, and graphic design whizzes.
Tables are available for rental until June 1. For Artists’ Alley, a six-foot table is $300 and there is a fee of $50 for each extra one. For other vendors, fees for a 10 x 10-foot space range from $700 up to $850.
The event will feature dozens of comic book artists, with some of this year’s guests being Kris Anka, Jason Latour, William Stout, and Kevin Wada. They will be participating in panel discussions, personalizing drawings, and signing autographs. Other activities will include an art auction and ‘quickdraw’ contests.
The vendors, who will probably come from all around the area including Gastonia, may invest in banner printing services to draw more attention to their merchandise.
The Heroes Convention will be held at the Charlotte Convention Center from June 17 to 19. Tickets are $20 for Friday or Saturday and $15 Sunday; a three-day pass is $40. To learn more about this event, call 704-375-7462.
