Turkey Trot to take place in Olivette

An annual 5K will be held in Olivette this November in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The event is aptly titled the ‘Olivette 5K Turkey Trot,’ and this chip-timed race is returning for its 10th annual edition. It boasts over one thousand enthusiastic runners and walkers for this year's staging, with the addition of a Kids Fun Run. The occasion offers a family-friendly, picturesque, and circuitous course that extends across Olivette’s tree-lined trails.

Participants can look forward to receiving a long-sleeve tech T-shirt, refreshments, and live music. The post-race celebration also includes treats of locally crafted beer and more.

Proceeds from this event are dedicated to supporting the Harvey Kornblum Food Pantry. Throughout its tenure, the 5K has raised over $92,000 for this charitable endeavor. This gives the community a chance to begin the Thanksgiving celebrations in a festive manner while offering aid to those in need.

The event welcomes both strollers and dogs on leashes, with a request for them to start at the back of the pack, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants.

The cost for 5K registration is $25 for adults and $12 for children. The Fun Run for kids will be free of charge.
