Olivette offers class for new drivers

Thanks to an upcoming workshop, Olivette’s newest drivers will soon be able to hit the road with confidence. knowing they will know what to do in a routine traffic stop.

The community will be offering its “Understanding Traffic Stops for New Drivers” activity, which is a new initiative instigated by its Police Department. It's free to reserve a seat, and both in the classroom learning and simulated interactions with law enforcement will be on the agenda.

The first part of the session will introduce topics such as what is a traffic stop and what it is not, what a driver can expect during one of these interactions and also the reason why a police officer may pull them over. After this, it will be time for mock traffic stops, so that the participants will know what to do. The class will run for two hours at the Olivette City Center, and there will be signage posted indicating which classroom to go to. All ages are welcome, bursitis geared to those who are new to driving.

Knowing what to expect can make interactions with law enforcement a positive experience for both the public and police alike. A brochure printing company will be happy to prepare copies of handouts and other learning materials for a learning focused activity.

This new initiative is scheduled for September 25th, and it will run from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The community's website offers a registration link.
