What's Happening in Olivette, MO…

Olivette crafts holiday floral decor

A porch pot or urn filled with greenery and other botanical items can be the final touch to a home’s festive decor, and an Olivette activity will teach how to prepare one from scratch.

The function, which is being offered thanks to the efforts of Olivette in Bloom, will be celebrating its third year, and it will run for two hours. Many of the natural materials used will be collected from local green spaces, and Mary Lynn Brophy and Phyllis Hershey will share their expertise with the group.

Mary Lynn and Phyllis will walk the group through the process of preparing their project, and everyone is asked to bring a container for their creation, as well as a pair of scissors or small pruners. The pinecones, berries, branches, and other design elements provided will be harvested from trails and parks in the community. Everyone can add their own personal touch, including lights, dried flowers, or a festive ribbon bow.

A hands-on crafting class offers a fun and social way to learn some new skills. A flyer printing company can provide a range of great value options for getting the word out about an activity.

This floral design workshop is scheduled for Five Oaks on Warson. It will take place on Friday, November 14 from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm, and the registration fee is $20 each.
