This September, Olivette first responders will be going even further when it comes to saving lives, as they will be taking part in a friendly competition to see who can raise the most contributions.
Battle of the Badges will seek to encourage as many as possible to roll up their sleeves and make a blood donation, and local police and fire departments have both signed on. Each will try and recruit the most donors, and the event is being organized by the American Red Cross.
Those who choose to join the activity will be asked whether they wish to dedicate their contribution to team fire or team police, and it will be held in the Community Rooms at City Center. The process will be the same as other donation drives, and after they arrive, are greeted and undergo a brief health check, it will be time for them to give blood. They can relax afterwards with some light refreshments and then go about the rest of their day as usual.
Raising public awareness of a cause is often one of the key parts of a successful donation drive, and a poster printing company will be able to provide creative ideas that may gain a lot of public attention.
The 7th annual Battle of the Badges will help to keep Olivette’s blood stocks high, and it is scheduled for September 3rd.
