What's Happening in Olivette, MO…

Olivette officer organizes December donation drive

A member of the Olivette Police Department has a “pet charity" that will benefit from an activity that will run throughout the month of December.

Cops for Pets, which was started as a labor of love by Police Lieutenant Garrett Wood , will benefit the St. Louis County Animal Adoption Center. The donation drive will accept both monetary assistance and “gifts in kind” contributions, and there's several ways to participate.

Anyone who would like to make a monetary donation can drop by the Adoption Center, and cash, credit cards and debit cards will all be accepted. Those who choose to do so are asked to mention “Cops for Pets” when they make their contribution

The organization is also seeking supplies to help care for its charges, and along with the monetary gifts, they can be dropped off at the Adoption Center. Both new and gently used pet care equipment and other supplies are needed.

Local businesses that would like to join in the fun are encouraged to set up a collection bin in their establishment. The organizers can be contacted at 314-983-5237 to discuss this. Stationery printers can craft floor graphics and other materials that may be helpful in drawing attention to the location of a donation drop-off box.

The seventh Annual Cops for Pets campaign will get started with a Pet Adoption event next Saturday, November 29 at 1200 N. Warren in Olivette. The donation campaign will run until December 31.
