Olivette gardeners who are eagerly awaiting spring’s arrival are reminded to save space in their horticultural calendar for a local pop-up plant market.
The annual Olivette in Bloom (OIB) Native Plant Sale will open in the early morning on its scheduled date, and it will welcome shoppers until the last plant heads to its new home in a local garden. The monies raised will be used by OIB to help fund its local beatification and other horticultural projects.
The activity will feature a wide assortment of native species and cultivars with a local provenance, and they tend to perform well under area growing conditions. Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and aid in plant selection. A new addition for this year will be a table of bare root pruning provided by Partners for Native Landscaping.
Pop-up plant sales tend to be a common sight in the spring months, with so many gardeners eager to find something new. A printing services company can supply signage, including durable Floor Graphics, that help to keep foot traffic moving, which may be important when a venue reaches its busiest time.
The OIB Annual Native Plant Sale will welcome its first shoppers at 9:00 am on Saturday, April 25. More details, including information about its location, can be found on the organizer’s website.
