Tribute to legendary band near Olivette
A tribute band to one of the icons of music will be in the Olivette area soon, bringing 2020 to a close.
El Monstero is a tribute to Pink Floyd, one of rock's most innovative groups. Pink Floyd formed in 1965 in London, and were considered a psychedelic pop band. They became known for their extravagant live shows, lyrics that were often philosophical, and extended compositions. Albums such as “Dark Side of the Moon” and “The Wall” made them legends, and by 2013, they had over 250 million album sales to their credit.
El Monstero is based in St. Louis, and their first show was in 1999, when members of the band Stir were between gigs, and decided to do a cover show. Their admiration for Pink Floyd led them to recreate the group's legendary performances, and they were such a hit they have been doing it ever since, at times using as many as 75 people to recreate a true Pink Floyd concert.
