Steve Earle set to perform in Olivette area

Folk-rock legend Steve Earle will be performing with his backing band The Dukes in St. Louis this July, as live music returns to the Gateway to the West area.

Earle is touring in support of his recently released album J. T. The record, recorded as a tribute to his son Justin Thomas, was released this January. The St. Louis date is part of three stops in Missouri, alongside Kansas City and Jefferson City. The tour is set to run for four months and take Earle and the Dukes all around the United States.
Earle has released 20 studio albums and received three Grammy awards over his 35-year recording career, and his songs have been covered by everyone from Johnny Cash to The Pretenders. The concert will attract fans from surrounding areas like Ferguson and Olivette.

This summer has seen live music return to the St. Louis area with a series of concerts and festivals, and Earle’s show is no exception. The concert venue recommends social distancing and face masks for attendees who have not been vaccinated for COVID-19. Concerts like these typically use methods like poster printing and local radio promotion to let local fans know about the appearance. In addition to his music, Earle has developed a following through his work as an author and actor, including in the TV show Treme and the off-Broadway play Samara.

Steve Earle will be performing at The Pageant in St. Louis on July 11.
