The power metal band Kamelot will appear in the area soon, in a show sure to delight fans. Olivette residents who love the group will have to make a trip to St. Louis to catch the performance.
Although Kamelot was formed in Tampa, Florida, in 1991 by Richard Warner and Thomas Youngblood, the band has always had European members. Roy Khan, a Norwegian vocalist, joined the group to work on the album “Siége Perilous,” and wrote songs, along with Youngblood, until he left the band in 2011. In 2012, Tommy Karevik, a Swedish vocalist, joined the group. He was featured on the “Silverthorn” album, where he performed as a lyricist, co-songwriter, and main vocalist.
Thus far, Kamelot has released 20 music videos, one DVD recorded live, two live albums, and 12 studio albums. A review of one of their live concerts says they provided a “rich playlist” and “nailed every song.”
Kamelot will appear in St. Louis at the Ready Room, only a short drive from Olivette. The popular venue that has drawn positive comments for its friendly staff, wide range of shows, and prices. It has a capacity of 750, which makes it a mid-size venue, giving concert-goers a much more intimate experience than an arena stage. Poster printing is often used when events like this occur.
The show starts at 7:20 pm on October 9.
