The Guess Who are Canadian, having first got together in Winnipeg in 1962. They became popular first in their own nation, then internationally, thanks to the efforts of songwriters Randy Bachman, who later went on to Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and Burton Cummings. Among their many hit singles are “These Eyes,” “Laughing,” and the classic “American Woman.”
In 1987, the Guess Who were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and in 2002, Randy Bachman, Bill Wallace, Donnie McDougall, Garry Peterson, and Burton Cummings were given the Governor General's Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement. The award was in recognition of the group's contribution to Canadian popular music.
The group touring now has only one original band member left, Garry Peterson, the drummer. However, the new group has retained the blues/rock sound of the original and is still recording. In 2018, they released “The Future is What It Used to Be.” When concerts like this are scheduled, poster printing can create advertising for the event.
