Olivette to offer kids camp

An autism-focused summer camp is to be held in Olivette this July.

'Camp Ausome' will give children who fall on the autism spectrum the opportunity to engage in monitored activities. Staff who are aware of the needs of participants will be present and ready to assist where needed. There will be indoor as well as outdoor activities, including yoga, crafts, games, and sports.

The camp is open to children between the ages of 6 to 11. Each child should bring a water bottle and snacks. Younger campers between the ages of 6 and 8 should also bring a change of clothes. Parents and caregivers should label children's items so they may be returned in the event of loss.

The camp's host is the Ford Family Foundation, a local non-profit corporation operating with the aim of raising autism awareness and acceptance in the local community. Its host events like these where people with autism may get together for fun activities.

Each child must register in order to participate. The cost for registration is $150, and each attendee receives a complimentary camp T-shirt. Registration is available via AllEvents.

This event happens on Monday, July 18 at the Olivette Community Center. This is located at 9723 Grandview Drive, Olivette, Missouri 63132. Dropoff begins at 9:00 am while pickups will be between 11:45 am and 12:15 pm.
