Olivette residents get ready to party
Olivette's preparing to welcome spring and summer at the town's annual Party in the Park.
According to a brief news item, the event will feature pony rides, bounce houses, and more. The party is free, and open to the public from 5pm to 7pm. Later in the evening, the band Slam will take the stage, and play from 7pm to 10pm.
Slam is a group of professional musicians who can play songs from the 1940s to today. They cover dance tunes, motown, swing, disco, contemporary, funk, and rock and roll – everything from Frank Sinatra hits like ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ to Kanye West's ‘Gold Digger’.
Fallon's Bar and Grill will make beverages – including water, soda and beer, as well as food – available for sale at the party.
The party gets rolling on June 20th, a Friday, at 5pm. Stacy Park is the site of Party in the Park each year, and is located at 9570 Old Bonhomme. The park comprises 35 acres and has a one kilometer fitness path, ball fields, playgrounds, barbeque pits, a pavilion, and restrooms.
Party in the Park organizers could work with a banner printing company to create colorful flags to use as decorations for the event. Banners are sturdy and work well as outdoor displays; they are tough enough to be reused at subsequent parties.
