What's Happening in Olivette, MO…

Olivette plans anniversary fun

In September 2019, the Olivette City Council held a special work session to decide how to celebrate the city's 90th Anniversary. Residents will soon have a chance to enjoy the events they planned.

Council members decided there should be three events: one ticketed, formal event; one family-friendly; and one in the City Center. The formal event is “An Affair to Remember: 90th Anniversary Dinner Dance.” It will be held at the Danforth Plant Science Center, with a tour of the center and cocktails at 6.00 pm, followed by the dinner dance at 7.00 pm. Attendees are asked to wear cocktail attire.

The family-friendly, park-oriented event is a “Party in the Park: 90th Anniversary Celebration,” which will be held from 6.00 pm until 10.00 pm at Stacy Park. Attendees will enjoy balloon artists, face paintings, food trucks, drink trucks, OMG Josh, and live music provided by Vote for Pedro.

The Olivette City Center will be open for people to meet their friends and talk to city staffers, and a new piece will be added to the history wall.

At present, the dinner-dance is not yet scheduled, but a date will be announced soon. The Party in the Park is set for May 15, and the City Center will be open August 29, from 2.00 pm until 4.00 pm. Interested parties should check back for any changes in the schedules. Brochure printing can create attractive programs for events such as a dinner-dance.
