What's Happening in Olivette, MO…

Olivette paws-es for fun

Olivette pups and their human companions have an event coming up just for them.

Olivette's Parks and Recreation Department is presenting the Paws in the Park event, which consists of a 1K and a 3K run. The races, which are fun runs/walks, are non-competitive, and help to support the local animal shelter. There will be live music, a food truck from Scoops Ice Cream, and a special hunt for the pooches, during which they can search for treats. Flyer printing is a good method for organizers of this type of event to use to create information sheets.

Participants are encouraged to register their furry friends before the event, for a chance at winning a three-month subscription to Bark Box. Bark Box delivers a box of dog treats, toys, and chews once a month. Registration costs $6 for the first dog, and $3 for each additional pup.

In addition, participants are encouraged to donate to help support the shelter. If they would rather not donate, the shelter has a wish list of items they need, such as soft dog treats, dog and cat beds, bleach, and more.

At this time, Paws in the Park is slated to take place from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm, in Stacy Park, on April 26. Participants may not use retractable leashes. People interested in taking part may want to check with the race organizers from time to time, to see if there is a schedule change.
