Olivette library series to discuss healthy living

Olivette residents can learn about having a healthy start to the new year by attending courses offered at the University City Public Library (UCPL).

People looking for health-related guidance can participate in the ongoing Eat Smart, Be Active series presented by the UCPL, Ferguson Public Library, and the University of Missouri Extension. Each program is a virtual presentation held by Marche' Scott, a nutrition educator.

The courses offered in January will be covering multiple topics, including how to stay active during cold seasons and how people can incorporate fruits and veggies into meals. There will also be a discussion on the role of protein, dairy, and fat in a healthy diet.

The UCPL was established in 1939 and currently has a collection of over 150,000 Books. The organization offers many educational programs for its patrons, such as live discussions with authors and online poetry reading sessions for adults. Children can take part in reading challenges. Libraries like this can advertise their public activities by using printing services to produce Flyers.

The staying active workshop will be held on January 5, the dieting tips course will take place on January 12, and the class on proteins and fats will occur on January 19. Each event will be free for people to join, and will all be held at 6:00 pm. Guests must register in advance to attend the presentations.
