An Olivette pub will be hosting the Unbounded Cornhole Tournament this August, with proceeds going to a local organization to help young people.

The event will pit teams of two against each other in the familiar game that sees players trying to toss bags into a sack. The tournament is hoping for 16-24 teams to participate, with prizes for the top three. Each ticket will also include commemorative T-shirts and a gift bag with souvenirs. The tournament will be looking to raise money through a raffle and a 50/50 drawing. Unbounded Cornhole has received sponsorship from Jameson and 4 Hands Brewery.

Money raised will go towards Unbounded, a non-profit organization that looks to provide help to young adults transitioning into adulthood, particularly those from difficult financial backgrounds. It provides classes and resources such as dress clothes to help youths get jobs and be ready for the workplace, as well as covering topics like cooking and preparing for college. Charitable events like this tournament, often using competitions and promotional products as enticements, are a major part of how charitable organizations fund their efforts. In addition to cash donations, Unbounded relies on the volunteer efforts of class teachers and other workers.

The Unbounded Cornhole Tournament will take place at Fallon’s Bar & Grill on August 14, with teams required to register ahead of time.
