Olivette area invited to attend clothing swap

With clothing prices on the rise, an upcoming Olivette area event may help shoppers to keep on budget.

The Rita Ford Community Center in St. Louis has been booked to host a Spring Frock Swap, which will help those who participate to build a new-to-them springtime wardrobe. Anyone who has some extra plants can bring them along as well, and it is free to reserve spot.

The rules of the swap ask everyone to bring along gently used clothing that still has lots of life in it, and these will be gathered and displayed. The function will open with a “looking room only” hour where the attendees can view the items up for grabs in the swap, and the snack room will be set up for this. Everyone is asked to supply at least five separate items of clothing or plants under two feet tall. At the end of the viewing hour, the doors will open for the clothing and plant trading.

Grassroots-level activities like this often have a big impact. A flyer printing company will be pleased to offer an assortment of items that will be kind on organizers’ budgets.

The Spring Frock Swap will help to give gently used clothing a new lease on life on Friday, April 14. The doors will open at 6:00 pm.
