Luxury homebuilders Douglas Properties has submitted a proposal to build 35 townhouses in Olivette.
The proposed homes will be part of seven separate structures and will each be three stories, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and taking up 2700 square feet or less. The builders expect to market the homes for between $599, 900, and $649,900. The property currently consists of eight single-family houses and vacant land, some of which are already owned by Douglas and others which they are under contract to buy. The project is designed by Core10 Architecture, based in St. Louis. Douglas Properties previously has experience building 200 homes and 44 condominiums.
The proposal was reviewed by Olivette’s Planning and Community Design Commission on January 7, with further inquiry and a vote on approval to take place at a later date. It is one of a number of construction projects taking place in Olivette’s “innerbelt,” which also include a retail center and an apartment complex called The Oliver scheduled to open this spring. Developers and realtors often use roadside Signs, brochure printing, and online listings to help advertise when new homes are available.
If approved by the City of Olivette, construction of the new homes is planned to begin this spring. The proposed location is at the intersection of Dielman Road and Olive Boulevard.
