Something Rotten is a Musical that will play near Olivette, Missouri in October.
The musical comedy was created by brothers Wayne and Karey Kirkpatrick, and John O’Farrell. It is set in 1595 and follows brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom as they try to write the next big play. They are stuck in a rut as they are overshadowed by William Shakespeare. The brothers happen upon a stroke of luck as a local sage advises that the future of theatre involves a mix of dancing, singing, and acting. Something Rotten is a mashup of Shakespeare’s London and the show business capital of the world, Hollywood.
It touches on what it takes to become famous with Shakespearean comedic relief. The musical was nominated for 12 Outer Critics Circle Awards, 9 Drama Desk Awards, and 10 Tony Awards.
Tickets cost $25 for adults and $20 for students and seniors on Thursday showings. On Fridays and Saturdays, tickets will cost $30 for adults and $25 for students and seniors.
