Local fundraisers reaches out to the community

St. Louis HELP has a fundraiser coming up soon, and is inviting area residents to join them in Olivette.

St. Louis HELP (Health Equipment Lending Program) was founded in 2008 by Laura Cannon-Singer, who is now its executive director. The agency loans home medical equipment, free of charge, to any family, person, or caregiver who needs it.

Among the items HELP loans out are hospital beds, wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, tub benches, shower chairs, portable commodes, grab bars, gait belts, lift chairs, and pediatric equipment. All the equipment is recycled, and has been reconditioned and cleaned by a team of volunteers and craftsmen.

The agency will host ‘Wine at the Warehouse’, an evening that promises to be fun and casual, and an opportunity for people to make new friends, according to Cannon-Singer. As the name implies, the event will feature fantastic wines, but there will also be live music, raffles, fun, and food. As well as dinner, there will be a ‘Corks for the Cause’ Wine Pull.

St. Louis HELP's ‘Wine at the Warehouse’ evening is scheduled for September 15, 2016, from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm, at the agency's warehouse in Olivette, on Dielman Rock Island Drive. Tickets for the evening are $45 per person, and a portion of the price is tax deductible.

Agencies like these can benefit by contacting postcard printing companies, which can create mailing cards to remind potential attendees of interesting events.
