Support Dogs, Inc., a national nonprofit organization that provides service dogs to the disabled, is hosting its “Dogs in the Ruff!” golf tournament for the sixth year.
The tournament includes an 18-hole, four-person scramble, and is slated for the Norman K. Probstein Golf Course in Forest Park, about five miles from Olivette. The tournament is a fundraiser and includes use of a golf cart, complimentary beverages, an on-course lunch, raffles, prizes for attendance, and a reception following the tournament.
Eidel Virant Capital and Compass Realty Group are gold sponsors, while bronze sponsors are Willie Glickert and Kozeny-Wagner, Inc.
Support Dogs, Inc., offers hope, dignity and independence to the disabled by providing them with highly-trained, skilled service dogs that can work with both individuals and the community. Support Dogs was founded in 1983, and its programs include the Assistance Dog program, which pairs a service dog with a disabled person; a program called TOUCH (Therapy of Unique Canine Helpers), which is a pet visitation program, and a program that puts dog in classrooms called ‘Paws for Reading’.
The tournament will be held Monday, June 22, with a tee time of 11:00 am. Tickets purchased in advance are $125 per person, or $500 for a four-person team. Corporate and individual hole sponsorships are available as well.
Tournament organizers could work with a banner printing company to create festive streamers to enhance the event.
