St. Paul to celebrate 26 years of free jazz

The Twin Cities Jazz Fest will celebrate its 26 years of offering free jazz performances to the public this June.

The Twin Cities Jazz Fest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that began as a humble one-day music festival that held free jazz performances for the community to enjoy. For 25 years, the festival has grown and morphed into a two-day festival that is billed as “one largest free civic jazz festivals” in the region. The event has continued to be free throughout the years thanks to generous donors, sponsors, and grants. Organizers note that donations are always welcomed for those who are able to give.

The jazz festival will take place in and around Mears Park, which is located in the Lowertown neighborhood of St. Paul. There will be two outdoor music stages at which to watch the performances, and 18 venues around St. Paul will also host jazz artists and bands. Most of the venues will be walking distance from each other.

Outdoor festivals like this often utilize vibrant Banners that can be hung in strategic places to decorate the venue. These Banners can be printed by seeking out local banner printing services.

The jazz festival will take place on June 21 and June 22. Mears Park is located at 221 5th Street East. Admission is free, but food and beverage will be available for purchase.
