The event invites couples to participate together, but is also open to solo entries. The course will contain Valentines-themed photo ops and sweets at the finished line. Participants can choose to run a variety of distances, from a short “Kids Dash” to a 10-kilometre test of endurance. All participants will include themed “swag” including a designer shirt, a race bib, and a custom medal. Road races and other athletic events often turn to printing services or trophy shops to help create these souvenirs.
For those unable to run at the specific time and location, a virtual option is available, with participants still receiving the “swag” and recognition for their run. Runners will be divided into age and gender groups, with awards for the top finishers from each group and at each distance. The event is organized by Bodies, a largely volunteer organization which holds athletic events across the Midwest, and explains their goal as growing community togetherness:
“Our family-friendly events are designed to keep our communities healthy, active, and united year-round. You, our customer, are the most important piece of Bodies.”
The 2025 Couple Shuffle will take place on February 8 at Snail Lake Regional Park in St. Paul.
