The 21st annual Minnesota Fringe Festival is taking place for 11 days this summer in Minneapolis.
There are set to be 169 different stage productions taking place during the festival. Those who are participating were chosen by a lottery that took place in February of this year.
Each production is less than an hour long, and some of the titles for this year's event are ‘Jayne's Day in the Life of a Musical’, ‘Amateur Hour’, and ‘Writing the Breakdown Book’. Another performance will focus on the work of Shakespeare.
The performances will take place in 19 different stages, including the Illusion Theater, Playwright's Center, and The Soap Factory.
The festival is a great opportunity for Minnesota playwrights and performers to make themselves known in the community. It is also a good chance for the public to enjoy some unique performances for a very reasonable price.
It is likely that many of the performing groups, who come from all over the area including nearby St. Paul, will create some of their own advertising in addition to the official marketing. This may involve investing in flyer printing services.
The Minnesota Fringe Festival is taking place from July 31 to August 10. Ticket prices are $12, plus a $4 admission button. Admission for children aged 12 and under is $5. Alternatively, a pass allowing entry to every performance is $225. Call 612-872-1212 for more information.
