Unique group to perform in Rochester

An act with a twist on popular music will be bringing their tour to Rochester in mid-October.

Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox is a group put together by their namesake leader. First started in 2011, the band brings in a variety of musicians and singers. Modern songs are then done in a totally different style from the original. The tagline of the group is quoted as “Today’s hits yesterday.”

Some examples of their covers include “Levitating” originally by Dua Lipa done in the style of the 1920s, a Andrews Sisters version of “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls, a Motown spin on “I Knew You Were Trouble” by Taylor Swift, a 1960s orchestral version of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana, and a Tina Turner/Soul style take on “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen.

This live tour will be coming to the CH Mayo Presentation Hall at Mayo Civic Center. Two VIP bundle options are available. For $102, buyers get a laminate with a tour related graphic design, a reserved spot, and an autographed poster. For $197, the above-mentioned items are included, along with a photo and meeting with some of the performers.

Tickets range in price from $34.50 to $96.50 and they can be purchased through the Ticketmaster website. The concert is set to kick off at 7:30pm on October 20th.
